Soft on the Inside: Decoding Danish Social and Workplace Culture

Experiences of social life in Denmark vary widely. Some newcomers find that building friendships and professional relationships takes time, while others quickly establish strong personal and workplace connections.

This workshop explores the concept of the "coconut culture" and examines how different cultural expectations shape communication, collaboration, networking, feedback, and a sense of belonging both inside and outside the workplace.

During this workshop, you will

• explore how different communication styles and approaches to relationship-building can lead to misunderstandings in diverse teams
• learn practical strategies for building trust, strengthening connections, and fostering effective workplace relationships across cultures
• develop greater cultural awareness and empathy when working with international colleagues.

Djøf International Meetup is the place for you, as an international professional in Copenhagen, to gather with other professionals and exchange ideas, network and of course meet new people.
